About Tech Business Town
Industrial and emerging tech, explained. Who we are, what we cover across Robotics, Agritech, EV & Mobility, Medtech and Mechatronics, how we report and correct our work, and how to reach the Tech Business Town editorial desk.
Tech Business Town is an independent publication covering the machines, farms, vehicles and medical devices being rebuilt by new technology, from robot cells and precision agriculture to EV fleets, medtech and the mechatronics underneath them, and the business decisions behind each. Industrial and emerging tech, explained — written for Founders, engineers, operators and investors following industrial and emerging technology, and published on a simple premise: the people who actually do this work deserve the version that survives contact with it.

Why Tech Business Town exists
Coverage of Robotics, Agritech, EV & Mobility, Medtech and Mechatronics tends to split into two unhelpful halves: press releases with a byline attached, and commentary from people who have never had to ship, buy, or live with the thing being discussed. Tech Business Town was started to sit in the gap — close enough to the subject to know what actually changed, far enough from it to say so plainly.
Our editorial voice is deliberate: clear, grounded and practical. We explain the technology in plain terms, show the numbers that matter and get to what it means for the business. That shows up as how-to guides, explainers, head-to-head comparisons, features and opinion — whichever format answers the question a reader actually arrived with, rather than whichever one fills the most space.
Who writes here
Every piece on Tech Business Town carries the name of the person who reported and wrote it. 3 writers currently file for us across Robotics, Agritech, EV & Mobility, Medtech and Mechatronics, and each of them keeps a profile page listing their background, their beat, and everything they've published on this site.
Where a story has been independently fact-checked, the reviewer is credited separately from the writer, so you can tell who reported a claim and who checked it. Nothing here is published under a house byline or an invented persona.
What we cover
- Robotics Industrial arms, cobots and mobile robots: what they cost, what they replace and how to deploy them without regret.
- Agritech Precision farming, sensors, autonomy and the software creeping into every field, barn and greenhouse.
- EV & Mobility Electric fleets, charging, batteries and the economics of moving people and goods without diesel.
- Medtech Medical devices from prototype to ward: regulation, evidence, manufacturing and the market behind them.
- Mechatronics Where mechanics, electronics and code meet: motion control, embedded systems and the teams that build them.
How we work
-
We report before we opine
Analysis on Tech Business Town starts from something checkable — a filing, a release, a data set, a conversation with someone who was in the room. Where we're inferring rather than reporting, the piece says so in the sentence that does the inferring.
-
Corrections happen in public
When we get something wrong we fix it in place and note the correction on the article itself, with what changed and when. We don't quietly edit a mistake out of the record.
-
Commercial relationships never buy coverage
Some links may be sponsored. Our editors choose what we cover, and no manufacturer, vendor or investor we write about pays to shape a story or see it before it runs. Sponsored links are marked where they appear and carry the appropriate link attributes. No sponsor sees a story before publication, and no commercial relationship decides whether a topic gets covered or what we conclude about it.
-
We write for the person doing the work
This site is written for Founders, engineers, operators and investors following industrial and emerging technology — not for a search engine, and not for an industry insider looking to be flattered. If a piece can't survive being read by someone who does this for a living, it isn't ready to publish.
